Bundaberg and Our First Wwoofing

Currently we are in Bundaberg doing some Wwoofing (Willing Workers on Organic Farms) on a 12acre property with a family who are into Permaculture. We have shifted 5 cubic metres of soil, planted vegie seedlings and mulched, done some temporary fencing, mucked out the chook palace, mowed and whipper snipped, collected fresh yummy chook eggs and walked the dogs.

just finished moving the soil
We have also seen Green Tree Frogs, Cane Toads, 3 snakes, Black cockatoos, eagles, cuckoo bird, Orb spiders - this place rocks :)

We've been to the Bundaberg Rum factory (twice) and really love the factory tour, even if there were no tastings I would recommend the tour :) We have also been to the Bert Hinkler Hall of Aviation at the Botanic Gardens and also saw the Historic Museum and Fairymead Homestead. We had breakfast at a cafe in Bargara and then walked along the coastal walk, lovely place.
I really like Bundaberg and surrounding areas and it is hard to tell they had their largest flood ever in January this year but there are still people who haven't got homes and are living at the local caravan parks.  We will be here for another week or so and I'm looking forward to seeing more of Bundy.
