around the coast of Port Augusta and Margaret River Region.
Now, we visited the Giants Cave in Margaret River and it wasn't just a walk through a cave system, we walked, climbed, crawled, ascended & descended.... and it was awesome......

After Margaret River we headed to Perth for a few days, nice city, but for us, just another big city.
We did go into Fremantle and visit the Little Creatures factory (beer, beer & more beer) and we did a tour. It was really really good and very interesting and the beer tasting afterwards was good too :).
We drove to the beaches north of Perth and watched an amazing sunset....
We also drove out to Northampton and visited the museum in Toodyay, which was the old Gaol, really interesting place and we got to read about the exploits of WA's best known bushranger, Moondyne Joe. On our way back to Perth we drove through the Swan Valley and tasted some nougat and more craft beer.

After Perth we headed to New Norcia, the only monastic village in Australia, run by Benedictine monks. Once again, a really interesting place with a fascinating history.

Onto Geraldton...

In Geraldton there is a memorial for the HMAS Sydney II which sunk off the coast with no survivors. A really beautiful place..

After Geraldton, we headed to Kalbarri and we stayed at Murchison House Station, a working farm that opens up to campers between April to October. We got to camp on the banks of the Murchison River and it was soooooo quiet, ah the serenity.
Not sure if you are getting any AFL results where you are, so I thought I would update you. Collingwood lost

ReplyDeleteGreat to hear that you are finally taking an interest in your team after several years of failure under Mick Malthouse & Chris Judd. Since you have sacked Mick Malthouse in a disgraceful & disrespectful manner, and obviously since we have left Chris Judd must have retired (haven't watched TV since January) you are able to spend the money that was wasted on Mick Malthouse & Chris Judd on raw talent to bring your team out of the doldrums. I am glad to hear that you are able to relive the glory days of the eighties. As for me, could not care less if Collingwood lost the next 10 games, as of 7 days ago I was swimming with Whale Sharks, Turtles and several other marine species and at the moment (20th May, 11:24am) I'm sitting in Karratha sipping a beer in a pleasant 32degree autumn day. Love Gibbo :)
